Two powerful Swine flu fighters

On Wednesday, I sent you information on how to handle the current Swine Flu hysteria. While the media is in a frenzy, panic won’t do you any good. Neither will the government. You have to take your health into your own hands. So I gave you several great remedies for fighting and treating the flu. Today, I’d like to add two more powerful flu-fighters to that list.

The first is one of my favorite supplements: resveratrol. A study done in 2005 showed that resveratrol inhibited the influenza-A virus from replicating. Interestingly, it wasn’t resveratrol’s antioxidant action that fought the virus. It seemed to prevent the virus by commandeering the cellular machinery it requires for replication.

The cheapest way to fight Swine Flu is also the most effective

The hysteria has begun. With the first cases of Swine Flu hitting the U.S., the media is giving full coverage to the outbreak. What should you do? First, there are two things you can expect from any viral epidemic. One, the drug companies will make a vaccine for it. And two, the vaccine will come way too late for it to be of any value to anyone. And don't forget what happened the last time the Swine Flu came around in the late 1970s. More people died from the vaccine than died from the virus!

Your best anti-swine flu defense kit

The first salvo in worldwide epidemics is unfolding, much as I have been suggesting it would. This one is an influenza, not the dreaded bird flu. Nevertheless, it’s already proven to be a killer.

This virus, termed A-H1N1, has gene segments from North American swine, bird, and human flu strains and a segment from Eurasian swine. This is unusual and very worrisome. We’ve predicted mixed genetic strains for a long time. A virus that is more avian, but with human-to-human transmission, could be a worldwide horror similar to the Spanish flu epidemic of 1917-1918.
