How one vitamin can stop osteoporosis and type-2 diabetes
Do you have osteoporosis or are you worried about getting it? What about type-2 diabetes? Well, I have great news for you. There’s a simple way to treat and prevent both diseases with just one vitamin.
Two recent studies found that including more vitamin C in your diet (not supplements) will increase your bone density and reduce your risk of type-2 diabetes by up to 62%.
In the first study, researchers looked at a large group of older men and women, both smokers and non smokers. They found clear evidence that higher vitamin C intake led to stronger bones. But when the researchers adjusted for potassium intake, the benefits were lost. This means that potassium could account for the improvement.
