How to avoid radiation and still use your cell phone
The health concerns of cell phones have been in the news a lot lately. More and more studies are showing the dangers the phones pose, as they emit microwave radiation right next to your brain. I’ve written about this several times, and mentioned an easy way to protect yourself – with a wired earphone. That keeps the phone itself away from my body, distancing me from the emissions. However, I recently discovered that while this is a great habit, the effectiveness is in large part determined by the kind of earpiece you have.
I have checked out my wired earpiece on several occasions with a Trifield meter. This is a very inexpensive device, which detects electric and magnetic fields. Holding my cell phone close to the meter and placing a call sent the needle screaming. However, when I placed the ear buds next to the meter, I saw no activity even with the phone transmitting. I thought I was safe. But I was missing something.
