How to wipe out nausea
without feeling drowsy
If you ever suffer from nausea, you may turn to ginger to fight the awful feeling. Well, for years, conventional medicine thought the drug companies could outdo nature. So they created Bendectin. The target audience for this drug was pregnant women. But anyone with nausea could take it.

Women very close to me used the chemical. Then, several years ago, they stopped producing it because it possibly caused birth defects. I know most Second Opinion readers are beyond reproductive years. But you know that nausea, especially the nausea and vomiting of pregnancy, is awful. In the study, they randomized 170 pregnant women to take either a capsule of ginger powder (0.5 gm) or dimenhydrinate (Dramamine) (50 mg) twice daily for each. Here's what they found.

There was no difference in the effectiveness of the two. Furthermore, only 5.88% of those taking the ginger powder suffered drowsiness. A whopping 77.64% taking the drug suffered the well-known "side" effect.
