Prostate Pain

There are not a lot of men who don’t have some kind of prostate-related symptoms as they get over the 65-year hump.

These symptoms can be painful and can interfere with daily activities – even disrupting sleep.

They include urinary urgency, weak urinary flow, inability to fully empty the bladder, and pain during urination.

So what to do?

A newly published study on the effect of pine bark extract shows that it significantly outperforms the drugs doctors commonly prescribe.

This study, published in Minerva Medica, looked at an extract of French pine bark called Pycnogenol in 75 healthy men with various symptoms and signs of prostate enlargement. The researchers divided the men into three groups.

Group 1 was the control group. They did not receive any special treatment. Group 2 took 150 mg of Pycnogenol per day. And Group 3 took one of two different medications commonly prescribed for enlarged prostates – dutasteride and finasteride. The study lasted two months.

One of the big problems men have with an enlarged prostate is the fact that they can’t completely empty their bladder. This causes them to have to go to the bathroom more often. The researchers discovered that Pycnogenol improved bladder emptying by 42%. Compare this to 6% for the drugs.

When the bladder empties better, men will not have to urinate as often. The Pycnogenol group had a 37% reduction in bathroom trips. Compare this to a 14% reduction in the drug group. This also showed up in an improvement in nightly bathroom trips. The Pycnogenol group decreased the number of their trips by 31%. The drug group had only a 9% decrease.

Two other common symptoms of an enlarged prostate are straining and weak flow. The Pycnogenol group saw a 31% reduction in urinary straining, compared with a 6% reduction in the drug group. They also had a 24% improvement in urine flow, compared with 17% in the drug group.

As you can see, the results of taking Pycnogenol are significantly better than what doctors see with drugs. According to Dr. Lamm, “This initial study shows measurable benefit from Pycnogenol within 60 days – a natural option without side effects.” The fact that Pycnogenol had no side effects is especially important because the listed side effects of the drugs include decreased libido, erectile dysfunction, ejaculation disorder, and breast enlargement and tenderness.

My favorite treatment for prostate health is Advanced Prostate Formula. It’s the most effective formula I’ve seen, but some men still do not get complete relief from their symptoms. So, for them, adding 100-200 mg of Pycnogenol per day makes a lot of sense. And unlike drugs with all their nasty side effects, Pycnogenol has a long list of positive “side effects,” including powerful antioxidant activity, improved cognitive function, improved blood pressure readings and allergy symptoms, and decreased inflammation.

You can get Pycnogenol online and at Walmart in 100 mg capsules.

Yours for better health,
