Did you know that most perfumes and colognes on the market today could be hazardous to your health? In fact, they could cause serious problems, including allergies, birth defects, and even cancer.
Unfortunately, most people don't know what they're exposing their body to. A major loophole in Federal law allows fragrance makers to hide potentially hazardous chemicals in their products. We know that some of these chemicals are toxic to your body. Two of the worst are phthalates and artificial musks.
Phthalates are extremely common in fragrances. I've discussed these in the past. I like to call them plasticizers because manufacturers add them to plastic to soften it. Inside your body, they act as some of the most powerful estrogens ever known. And we know that estrogen causes cancer.
Artificial musks are unregulated chemicals. Scientists have linked them to skin irritation, hormone disruption, and even cancer. And they can accumulate in your body.
Up to 75% of brand name fragrances on the market have one of these chemicals in them. So when you smell a chemical fragrance, or put it on your skin, you're exposing yourself to some downright terrible man-made chemicals.
