| On Monday, I told you about Nrf2. Researchers say this short-named powerhouse could hold the key to living longer and avoiding disease. I also told you that you couldn't take this powerhouse in a pill. Your body has to produce it. And the best way to push your body into production is to exercise hard. But these researchers found another way to get your body to produce Nrf2. And it's much easier than aerobic exercise. Here's what they discovered. The researchers looked at 100 men and women. They divided the group in half so that the ages and sexes matched. They gave half of the group a total of three Major Auto-Hemotherapy (MAH) treatments with ozone. The treatments were two days apart. The other half did not get any treatments. During the week of treatments, they measured their Nrf2 levels both in the blood and in the white cells. The researchers also measured the amount of the antioxidant enzymes, superoxide dismutase, and catalase. Here's what the ozone did. Both blood and the white cell levels of Nrf2 increased immediately after each MAH treatment. In addition, the levels of superoxide dismutase and catalase increased as well. All of the increases were statistically significant. The people who did not get the MAH treatments showed no increase in either Nrf2 or the antioxidant enzymes. The authors stated, "These data demonstrate for the first time in vivo [in real life — not in a test tube] the activation of the Nrf2 pathway by a low dose of ozone." Continued Below...

MAH is a treatment process that ozone pioneer Dr. Hans Wolff developed in 1961. Blood (typically 100-200 cc) is withdrawn into a bag or bottle. Then ozone is injected into the blood. Ozone is a highly reactive form of oxygen. It immediately reacts with the cells in the blood to produce its effects. Plain oxygen will not work because its reactivity is too low. When the ozone reacts with the cells, it stimulates the cells to activate all kinds of important mechanisms. These are the same mechanisms that illness and aging can suppress. It is this stimulation that accounts for why ozone therapy is so effective for so many diseases. Now we know that one of the most important mechanisms that ozone stimulates is Nrf2. You can find a practitioner that has been trained and certified in the use of ozone therapy at the website of the American Academy of Ozonotherapy: www.aaot.us. I recommend that you use one of these doctors just to make sure you get the best. After seeing this amazing study, I am now recommending to all my patients over 65 that unless they are regularly engaging in intense, interval training aerobic exercise they get an MAH every week for the rest of their lives. I am convinced, as are the researchers in the two studies mentioned above, that this will prevent every disease, and extend a productive lifespan. By the way, Dr. Lamberto Re, one of the authors of the ozone study, will be our featured speaker at the next American Academy of Ozonotherapy meeting. You can get the details at www.aaot.us. One other last word. In the upcoming May issue of Second Opinion, I will be reporting on how you can give yourself ozone treatments right in your own home. The concept of at-home preventive therapy with ozone might just be one of the biggest breakthroughs of this decade.
