What you should never drink
when you eat carbohydrates
On Monday, I told you that a simple skin condition like acne can be misleading. Most doctors think it's just a teenage problem that's the result of changing hormones. But I showed you that acne is a condition of western civilization, and that teenagers in many non-western cultures don't have acne — at all.

I also showed you that the problem is refined carbohydrates. We eat too many of them. But what I didn't tell you is that acne could be a sign of much greater health problems to come. And I also didn't tell you what popular beverage could put you at a higher risk for these problems.

According to the authors of one study, the dangers of eating carbohydrates are greatly exaggerated when combined with milk.

This amazing clinical review looked at all of the evidence published on acne and diet. And they concluded that the evidence shows that acne is much more than a cosmetic problem. They present evidence that acne is a visible indicator of something much worse. Why? Because it indicates that the body is undergoing an over-activation of something called mTORCI signaling.

So what is mTORCI signaling? I won't go into great detail. But suffice it to say that it is a system that senses a variety of environmental stimuli and based on what it finds regulates growth and homeostasis. And when it is over-activated, it is implicated in an increasing number of diseases including cancer, obesity, type-2 diabetes, Alzheimer's, and Parkinson's. It also causes insulin resistance and early menopause. And that's where the milk comes in.

Not only do carbohydrates promote mTORCI signaling, but milk does as well. And that's why a Paleolithic-type diet that eliminates milk and greatly reduces carbohydrates is one of the best treatments for acne. So here's the take-home message.

Acne itself may be just another aggravating cosmetic issue. But it represents something much more. It is a marker for increased mTORCI signaling. And that makes it a marker for some very serious diseases. So you should not take it lightly. It is completely absent in industrially undeveloped populations and it occurs in our world because of our nutrient poor, excessive carbohydrate Western diets. And it is especially stimulated by milk. So take it seriously.

If you or a loved one has acne, it's time to go on a Paleo diet until it clears up. There are several books and all kinds of information online on how to implement a Paleo diet. Not only could it clear up your skin — you also might be able to prevent some potential disasters that may be lurking in your future.

Yours for better health,
