Over the course of two years, patients took either a statin or a placebo to take in addition to their standard chemotherapy. After two years, the researchers couldn’t tell a difference between the two groups. In fact, they were so underwhelmed by the results that they recommend all research into the use of statins for cancer treatment stop. They believe this study shows conclusively that statins won’t help.
