The end of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs)?
Many years ago, I was the first to warn you about the dangers of all the NSAIDs. These are non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. This family includes very popular drugs like Motrin, Nupren, Advil, etc. Basically, most non-narcotic pain reliever. I've repeatedly said that with NSAIDs you can relieve your joint pain today only to destroy your joint cartilage tomorrow. Turns out that greater pain might not just arise from your NSAID-destroyed joints. Your angina and heart destruction could also be secondary to any of the NSAID family. Here's the scoop.

Researchers recently followed 651,000 adults with diagnosed arthritis in the California Medicaid program. They followed them for 2.4 million patient years (average: 4 years per patient). This is the largest study ever on this issue. It found that at the very least, all NSAID drugs raise your risk of a heart attack by at least 12%, and up to 71% for the use of indomethacin, the strongest of the NSAIDs. The higher the dose of the particular NSAID, the higher your risk. For example, if you average over 150 mg daily of diclofenac (Voltaren), your risk increases a whopping 37%. At the same time, another just published medical study followed 9,218 patients with a first heart attack compared to 86,000 matched controls. Rocecoxib increased risk 32% and ibuprofen (Motrin) increased risk by 24%.

Why does this happen? NSAID drugs interfere with your body's normal inflammatory processes. Inflammation occurs for a reason. So does pain. NSAIDs reduce inflammation by interfering with prostaglandin metabolism. Yes, some prostaglandins create inflammation and pain, but others are an absolute requirement for blood vessel lubrication. God designed your body to strike the natural balance of prostaglandins.

Can You Restore Your Hearing by Taking Nutrients?

Most doctors don't think nutrition has anything to do with hearing loss. But several new studies show just how important nutrition is to your ears - and how some people are actually reversing their hearing loss.

But what are the alternatives if you have pain? I have long maintained that the safest class of pain drugs is narcotics. Other than the potential for addiction (uncommon when used judiciously for pain) these very cheap (when generic) drugs have a high safety profile. They are derived from God-made morphine, after-all. But doctors risk their licenses and freedom (yes, some have been sent to jail).

So what's your alternative for pain? If you have any type of joint pain, I heartily recommend prolotherapy and Prolozone. Prolozone is an advanced form of prolotherapy using ozone instead of the more traditional substances. I've written a lot about both therapies. These articles are available free to subscribers of my Second Opinion newsletter at www.secondopinionnewsletter.com.

Or you can read a great book on the subject called Prolo Your Pain Away! by my colleague Dr. Ross Hauser. Dr. Hauser's pioneering work on prolotherapy cleared the way for Prolozone and has helped relieve the pain of hundreds of thousands of people. Prolo Your Pain Away! retails for $29.95 + $6.95 shipping. But right now, you can buy it at half price for $14.95 + $3.95 shipping. Just follow this link to order while supplies last.
