Why losing your sex life could
literally destroy your heart
If you're a man over 50, you are likely concerned about retaining your sexual prowess. I haven't met very many men who would rather take Viagra than protect their natural ability. You can be sure that I am not one of them.

I have good news for you – you can stay sexually active your entire life. A recent study shows how.

An Italian study evaluated 200 men, 100 with erectile dysfunction (ED) and 100 without. The study found that strict adherence to a Mediterranean diet preserved at least 25% more natural erectile function than in men with the least adherence.

Further, the researchers looked at exercise and ED. Men who exercised daily had a 35% lower risk of ED compared to those without regular physical activity. Men without ED had only a 19% rate of physical inactivity. After adjusting for other variables, those with ED tended to have a higher body mass index and waist size, lower physical activity, and much less total energy. Intake of fruit and vegetables, nuts, and more monounsaturated fats compared to saturated fats lowered risk. These are the same factors that researchers link to heart disease.

One of the best indicators for the future development of heart disease is ED. You can see that the connection is clear. The risk factors for both are the same. ED is in large part a circulatory dysfunction in the arteries to the penis. Heart disease is not limited to the heart. It is a manifestation of a systemic problem.

It's sad that the best psychological threat I can use to get a man to mend his lifestyle is with warnings about his future sex life. This article simply provides more ammunition to my preaching. Don't wait for ED to befall you. And don't believe that eating a high animal protein diet will make you more potent. Apparently, it's just the other way around!
