Alzheimer's is assaulting
Baby Boomers - here's how to
protect your memory
I have worrisome news for Baby Boomers. New data show that one in eight of us will develop Alzheimer's. That's just the average risk. The absolute risk, based on the statistics is 17% for women and 9% for men living to age 55. This translates to 10 million of the 78 million Boomers still alive. It's an unfolding catastrophe.

Harry Johns is the Alzheimer's Association president and CEO. He said this new report "makes it clear that the crisis cannot be ignored, not when 10 million Baby Boomers are at risk of developing this fatal disease. Unchecked, this disease will impose staggering consequences on families, the economy, and the nation's health and long-term care infrastructure."

The damage to the nation will eclipse every war and terror attack in the history of the world. To me, the real security of the Homeland lies in preventing tens of millions of needless deaths from preventable diseases.

Action to take: Alzheimer's, like heart disease, is a new disease to humanity in terms of its exponential rise. That tells you that it is diet, lifestyle, stress, and toxins that are behind the travesty. Not genetics. Yes, there are genetic tendencies toward everything. But those tendencies are manifested through undesirable and preventable expression of your genes.
