A senior U.S. researcher has recently sent an open letter to GMO-promoting USDA Secretary Vilsack. Dr. Don Huber, a Purdue professor emeritus told Vilsack that a team of scientists has recently discovered a new pathogen that could threaten life on the planet. It's a fungus that is so small it's the size of a virus. It infects both plants AND animals! Dr. Huber termed the discovery "an emergency."

There are high concentrations of the pathogen in Roundup-ready products (including corn and soy) and in the stomachs and placentas of animals fed these crops. The pathogen causes sudden death syndrome in soy and corn. It also causes spontaneous abortions and infertility in farm animals. This possibly could explain the escalating epidemic of infertility and spontaneous abortions we've seen recently in U.S. livestock.

U.S. dairy heifers have an infertility rate of over 20% and spontaneous abortions are as high as 45% in animals contaminated with Roundup crops. This compares to no spontaneous abortions in cattle fed hay. Fungus-caused infections are exceptionally hard to treat. Sometimes they're impossible to treat. We're seeing it here in California. We're experiencing an epidemic of a fungal disease called "sudden oak death." Large swaths of native oak trees are suddenly dying and falling!

Huber closed his letter to the Secretary with this ominous warning:

"I have studied plant pathogens for more than 50 years. We are now seeing an unprecedented trend of increasing plant and animal diseases and disorders. This pathogen may be instrumental to understanding and solving this problem. It deserves immediate attention with significant resources to avoid a general collapse of our critical agricultural infrastructure."

Folks, you can only push nature so long. Consider what happens if you take antibiotics. Wiping out the good germs in your gut makes room for serious pathogens to grow. That's well known. Yet farmers are spraying plant killers without regard to what that will do to soil, crops, and organisms exposed to the plant killers. Nature always keeps a balance. Just like bad bacteria can threaten your health, Monsanto's Frankencrops and agricultural poisons now threaten the entire nation's food supply and your life!

Action to take: Please, please write your congressional leaders and Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack. Demand that they pass legislation to impose a moratorium on further GMO food approval. Demand that all GMO crops and animals be fully labeled. The latter alone will resolve the issue, as informed consumers will boycott Monsanto Frankenfoods. Please do this without delay and inform your family and friends.
